Our Dishwasher

Munchkin started helping with dishes when she was fairly young.  Originally, she just unloaded the dishes from the dishwasher and put them away.  As she got a bit older, she started loading and unloading the dishwasher as well as hand washing dishes as needed. When we moved here, we found that our dishwasher did not work.  In fact, our dishes came out more dirty than when they went in.  Since we live on base, we have notified housing a few times, but nothing they did fixed the problem.  I grew tired of calling, so Munchkin started washing all dishes by…

Loving Pets

A Friend Like That I talk to him when I’m lonesome like; and I’m sure he understands. When he looks at me so attentively, and gently licks my hands; then he rubs his nose on my tailored clothes, but I never say naught thereat. Passport to India

A month or so ago, I learned about a free program being offered by Sonlight curriculum called Passport to India.  When you sign up for the program, you can receive a package in the mail that contains information about the program, a passport for each participating student/child, and a suitcase. The suitcase is actually a bank, so you can collect money for the Children’s Bible Club in India.  (You can still sign up for the program.) Starting on October 5th, a new video and lesson has been posted each Tuesday and Thursday.  We watch the video and do the lesson. …

My Mother’s Day 2010

While Munchkin and D show me appreciation for the things I do every day, they make a special effort on Mother’s Day to make the day great for me.  In get spoiled with extra attention and little gifts from Munchkin.  This year, this picked out this huge singing card that was hilarious!!  In addition to the card, Munchkin arranged these flowers for me from a bouquet from the store.  I think she did a great job.
