Project 365 – #103 Since the temps are supposed to be on the rise this week, Munchkin and I decided that we’d head over to the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge on Tuesday.  D had hoped that he would be able to go with us, but his work schedule didn’t allow him to get away.  As we were getting things ready to leave, Munchkin asked if she could see if her friend could go with us.  I told her that it was fine to ask, so Munchkin ran next door to find out if she could join us on our adventure. …

Driving through Kofa

Project 365 – #102 On Saturday, we headed over to Kofa National Wildlife Refuge.  We wanted to do a little exploring in some of the areas where we hadn’t gone previously.  We’re trying to fit in a few more fun family outings before D’s surgery right after Easter. We had fun taking pictures and just looking at all of the beautiful scenery. The gorgeous fluffy white clouds against the brilliant blue skies were breath-taking. We even saw some interesting clouds.  We thought this one looked like a funny face.  What do you think?

A Sunday Drive

Project 365 – #101 On Sunday afternoon, we decided to go out for a nice drive.  Our first destination plan was Martinez Lake as we had never headed over there.  Upon arrival, we decided that we would just keep on going to the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge instead.  We were a little disappointed that the visitor center wasn’t open.  (Apparently, it’s closed on the weekends after March 31st.)  The disappointment didn’t last long as we found a beautiful picnic area right by the water. The breeze coming off the water mixed with the warm air to create a pleasant environment…

A Place to Call Home

Project 365 – #098 That little bird has chosen his shelter. Above it are the stars and the deep heaven of worlds. Yet he is rocking himself to sleep without caring for tomorrow’s lodging, calmly clinging to his little twig, and leaving God to think for him. ~ Martin Luther ~ Leaving God to think for him.  Hmm… maybe I could learn a thing or two from the birds. We are once again blessed to have a bird’s nest in the tree next to our house.  Munchkin was rather concerned that the birds would not be there this year as…

Hope is the thing with feathers…

Project 365 – #097 Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, and never stops at all. ~ Emily Dickenson ~ Yesterday, Munchkin and I were looking around at all of the blooming flowers in our yard and in the yards around our neighborhood.  The bees were drawn to the sweet fragrance of the blossoming bushes.  Hummingbirds flitted this way and that from one bush to the next.  Pausing only briefly – just long enough for me to capture a brief glimpse of this tiny, amazing creature.
