Puppies: Play Fighting

Posted in Family, and Photography

I’ve found that homeschooling, keeping up with the house, and training the puppies has taken up pretty much all of my time.  I’m rarely on the computer these days, so my posting has been cut down drastically from my norm.  I know that once we have the whole house training thing under control that life will become a little more “normal”, but the training won’t stop there. Having two puppies has created quite the lively household. Wiley is (from what we know) a little over a year old and due to him being a large breed dog, he’s definitely still a puppy.…

The 1st Homeschool Day of 2012

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

I admit that both mommy and daughter have enjoyed our time off from school.  Munchkin has even taken a little time off from her volunteer work at the stables to regroup a little. Today, the break was over, and we started back up with school work.  I admit that it’s good to be back on schedule even though I can’t say that I’m looking forward to grading school work. **wink**  Surprisingly, the day went smoothly which is not always the case when we start back up after a long break.  Munchkin jumped back into everything without any issues.  Granted, we…

New Year, New Me: Reflections

Posted in Christian Life, Family, Fitness, and Photography

2011 was a difficult year for our family between D’s two back surgeries, the loss of family members and pets, and a few more things thrown in for good measure, but it was also a time of family bonding.  We found ourselves growing together, learning together.  We were given the special opportunity to spend some good quality time together.  Granted, for a good chunk of that time, D was in pain, but it was still a good time of bonding for all of us.  As a military family, we definitely don’t take for granted the time that we have together.…

One Puppy, Two Puppies…

Posted in Family

I haven’t been blogging much these days because D has been home from work, and we’re going through lots of adjustments here on the homefront. As you recall, we adopted Wiley from the humane society the weekend before Christmas.  He’s been integrating into our family.  As with any changes, there have been ups and downs, but he is definitely 100% a member of the family.  He’s still learning to be comfortable with D in all areas of the house.  For whatever reason, he’s a little intimidated by D (height/size maybe?).  He loves playing with him and cuddling with him in…

Kick-Start Fitness Final Check-In

Posted in Family, and Fitness

It’s hard to believe that we’ve come to the end of our December Kick-Start Fitness challenge.  It’s been fun blogging through December with my fellow bloggers.  I’m heading into the New Year with the confidence that I ended the year on a good note when it comes to fitness.  I plan on carrying the momentum into the new year. As I noted last week, having a new dog who is use to walks has definitely helped me work at getting back into shape physically.  We’re continuing to have multiple walks per day.  Normally, I’m walking Wiley by myself, but sometimes…
