Thankful for Water

Living in arid Arizona, I’ve come to appreciate water a lot more than I had in the past. When I was younger, closed doors were more than a little frustrating. In fact, they could be, at times, just plain irritating. No, no… I’m not talking about physical closed doors, but rather those opportunities, dreams, plans, hopes that get shut down for whatever reason. Taming the Tongue – not an easy task…

As I read this scripture passage this morning, I was reminded how easy it is to allow unkind, mean-spirited words to pass from my lips. In my heart, I want to be Christ-like in all I say and do. Yet, it’s not always easy to translate these desires into actions in my day-to-day life when things go crazy and people constantly act in a manner which cause stumbling blocks to others.
