Thankful for Water

Posted in Christian Life

Living in arid Arizona, I’ve come to appreciate water a lot more than I had in the past. When we lived on the east coast, we would often find ourselves feeling water logged due to the amount of rain that we received. That didn’t mean that we never went through times of drought – we did, but it was nothing like what we experience here. We talk about the early settlers who were traveling across country, and what it would have been like for them. What a difficult journey to make. If you ran out of water, you were seriously…

When God Answers…

Today, I’m doing something a little unique for me. I’m featuring a guest post by my friend Heidi Kreider as part of her virtual book tour. I had the opportunity to read Heidi’s book in Kindle form when it was first released and truly enjoyed it. Now, the book is in print for the first time, and I’m so excited for her reaching this milestone. I believe you’ll enjoy hearing about Heidi’s journey… I sat with 4000 other women. O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him…

Taming the Tongue – not an easy task…

As I read this scripture passage this morning, I was reminded how easy it is to allow unkind, mean-spirited words to pass from my lips. In my heart, I want to be Christ-like in all I say and do. Yet, it’s not always easy to translate these desires into actions in my day-to-day life when things go crazy and people constantly act in a manner which cause stumbling blocks to others. Sometimes, stupidity seems to cry out for action. While there is a time and place to correct and speak out, more often, I need to quiet my voice and…
