Sarah’s Escape Review

Inside, Sarah saw him, and her heart skipped a beat. It felt like a giant hand squeezing the very breath from her. Then, color drained from her face and panic came—cold and sudden. Standing speechless, a terrible fear tore at her throat, and for a split second she thought of the will. Only Sam knew the hiding place.             “Sam!” Eliza screamed. “Oh, Sam, Oh, my dear Sam.” She knelt beside her husband, head on his chest, weeping uncontrollably. Sarah rushed to Eliza’s side as Esther flew through the doorway. Seeing her daddy on the floor staggered her, sending…

Flea Market Goodies

Posted in Holidays, and Homemaking

Unlike most of the country, we are now enjoying flea markets and roadside fruit/veggie stands.  This weekend, we stopped by the flea market that just opened for the season.  We didn’t realize how big it was until we pulled in to park.  It was also quite crowded.  We started walking around just to check it out when I spied a bulk nut and dried fruit booth.  I happily looked around and was pleasantly surprised at the prices.  We grabbed a few goodies (flax seeds, banana chips, walnut pieces), paid for our purchase, and moved on. Saturday Morning Breakfast

Posted in Family, and Holidays

During the week, D eats waffles that I have made and frozen for him. (I’m not getting up that early and making waffles. lol!)  If for some reason there are no waffles ready, he’ll eat cereal, but he prefers the waffles. I always wonder if he’ll get tired of them, but he doesn’t. It’s just something that works for us. Most Saturday mornings, you will find D in the kitchen cooking breakfast. It’s not something that I ask him to do, and I certainly don’t expect it. Yet, that is what you’ll find him doing most weekends. He cooks up…
