Grand Canyon: A Moment of Rest

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

Project 365 – #217 While everyone else in our crew hiked down just a little into the Grand Canyon, D found some rocks on which to rest.  Recovering from back surgery is no fun when you’re an active guy like him, but he was able to manage pretty well over the 2 weeks.  The girls decided they’d take a little rest with him.  Of course, there was a little messy around at the same time they were resting. **grin**

Trying to Focus

Posted in Family, and Photography

Project 365 – #216 Today, I have found myself struggling to focus on the tasks at hand. I’m dealing with a headache, coming off a family vacation, and trying to work through details of stuff going on behind the scenes of several different things. Thankfully, none of my tasks today really needed to total focus. lol! Munchkin, on the other hand, has been doing a fabulous job focusing and accomplishing her tasks. She’s been working hard on chores and jobs around the house as well as on her school work. To say that we’re pleased with how she’s been doing…

Gluten Free Vacation

Project 365 – #215 One of the fun things that we were able to do while on vacation (aka our small family reunion) was go out to eat.  I realize that for some people going out to eat doesn’t seem all that special, but since we’re gluten free and have to be extremely careful about cross contamination, we rarely go out to eat.  Usually, we just take our food with us on vacation.  While we did do that on this trip, we were also able to hit a few different places including Chick-fil-a, Picazzos (the best gluten free pizza), and…

An Interesting Horseback Ride

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

Project 365 – #214 Grandpa decided that he wanted to take us all horseback riding.  Munchkin has really, really wanted to go riding for some time, but it just never seemed to work out for various reasons.  Well, this trip, she got the opportunity to go riding while we were up visiting the Grand Canyon.  To say she was excited would be a major understatement.  We arrived at the stables with cloudy skies overhead, but we had high hopes for a great ride. We took some pictures and saddled up for the ride.  Unfortunately, my one niece was a little…

Review: I’m All In by Robert Pierre

I’m All In by Robert Pierre About the artist and album: For Robert, I’m All In is more than the name of his third studio album, released July 26 from thinkaboutit records. It has become Robert’s life motto as he responds to God’s calling to live fully committed to Him. In addition to writing and recording I’m All In and playing on a summer tour, Robert also leads regular Sunday morning worship at his 800-member Orlando, FL church. And he’s done it all as a high school senior. “All of the songs have something to do with things I was…
