Cabin Updates: New Floor and Laundry Room

Posted in Family, and Homesteading

Last Tuesday, Munchkin and I headed up to the cabin with the pups and the guinea pigs. D was over in 29 Palms, so we thought we’d get a little work done at the cabin while he was there. We also took this opportunity to enjoy some fun mommy daughter time. 😉 D drove over from 29 Palms later in the week once he completed his work stuff. We found ourselves working quite hard to complete some main things at the cabin including laying all of the floor in the cabin. Since I had already completed the master bedroom floor…

Wildlife Wednesday: Black and White Moth

Posted in Photography

As I was getting ready to water our plants, I found this beautiful moth nestled inside of the greenery. I haven’t been able to identify the type of moth, so let me know if you can identify it. 🙂 A big thanks to my blogging friend Dawn over at Guiding Light Homeschool for letting me know that this is a White-Lined Sphinx Moth. Her son J identified it for us. 🙂 Another reader also identified it for me and said they have a lot of them in the Phoenix, Az area. I knew that some of my readers would be…

Things have been pretty crazy lately, and our trips to the cabin have been filled with work and not so much relaxing. While she understands the importance of getting things finished up, it doesn’t mean that she enjoys the process. I wanted to do something just for her to make…

Progress on the Cabin

Posted in Family, and Homesteading

We finally received our first check for the flooding damage at the cabin. It took over 3 months to receive the check which really did slow down some of the purchasing of needed products, but now we’re back on track. It’s taking longer than we would like to get things back together, but that’s what happens when you end up doing all the work yourselves. lol! That being said, we were able to make a good bit of progress last week. D finished up the plumbing (except for the burst pipe going to the evap cooler that caused all of…
