Last Tuesday, Munchkin and I headed up to the cabin with the pups and the guinea pigs. D was over in 29 Palms, so we thought we’d get a little work done at the cabin while he was there. We also took this opportunity to enjoy some fun mommy daughter time. 😉
D drove over from 29 Palms later in the week once he completed his work stuff.
We found ourselves working quite hard to complete some main things at the cabin including laying all of the floor in the cabin. Since I had already completed the master bedroom floor during our last visit to the cabin, the laundry room, kitchen, dining room, and living room were the remaining rooms that needed to be completed. I installed the laundry room floor while D was gone. On Thursday, I completed the dining room area while he worked on a couple of other things. The kitchen and living room ended up being a joint effort to complete. D bounced back and forth between helping me with the floor and working on other miscellaneous things that needed to be done.
Saturday found me feeling ill and D hurting, so the process of completing the living room floor took much longer to complete than we expected. By the end of the day on Saturday, we had new floors throughout the house. It was so nice to be able to walk around without shoes/slippers for the first time since November when this all started.
Another accomplishment that was achieved while we were there was to move the washer and dryer into the new laundry room. If you’ll recall, the washing machine was in the area where our dining room table is now, and the dryer was in the garage. The laundry room/mudroom  is not finished, but I’m so happy to have the washer and dryer in their new home. I can finally do laundry at the cabin again! While our work isn’t done, this was a huge step in the right direction.
It is beautiful! I love it!
Thank you! It’s definitely been a lot of work, but it’s rewarding to see it finally coming together. 🙂

It’s looking good, Heather! One of these days, you’ll be able to just relax. 😉
its beautiful
Im sure youll make lots of wonderful memories there 🙂
We really are making a lot of memories even if it’s a great deal of work. I must admit that we’re really looking forward to making even more memories without all of the craziness of the rebuild. 😉
