Most of us have heard about the Christian symbolism in the Narnia series, but could there be even deeper meaning written into the books? Could all of the mystery be solved if we cracked the code? For years, many people have felt there was more than met the eye in the C.S. Lewis Narnia series, but they couldn’t crack the code.
Did Michael Ward finally unlock the code? Did he find the key to the Narnia mystery? Many years after the first Narnia books were published, Michael Ward stumbled across what looked like a hidden code in C.S. Lewis’ writings. The more that he researched, the more he felt that he had finally solved the mystery. He went on to publish Planet Narnia which discussed all of his research and findings. Later, he wrote The Narnia Code which breaks things down in simpler terms. For those who prefer to watch a movie, there is now The Narnia Code dvd.
When we put in the movie, we had no idea what to expect. We hadn’t read any of Michael Ward’s books, so we weren’t familiar with his code. We have all enjoyed the Narnia books, so the idea of there being more, there being a hidden code was quite intriguing.
As we watched the movie, we learned a great deal about C.S. Lewis which was an unexpected plus. Learning about the possible code in the Narnia books was quite interesting. The movie left us wanting to read the books, so we could really dig into the theories for ourselves. As presented, the code makes perfect sense.
