Armed Forces Day with Gettysburg Flag Works

Waving American Flag

Growing up, I remember how much I enjoyed seeing American flags blowing in the wind. When I became a military spouse, those flags took on a whole new meaning as I had a better understanding of the sacrifices behind that flag, behind our freedoms. Munchkin grew up having a flag flying at almost every house she’s ever lived in, so she’s not happy when we don’t have at least a small flag waving in the breeze.

When Gettysburg Flag Works contacted me to see if I would like to receive a flag, I was thrilled as I didn’t have a flag for this house. We took time discussing what I was looking for in a flag. Given that we live in the desert, we need a flag that can not only stand up to the heavy winds that we get but also a flag that resists fading due to the harsh sun. We decided on a 3’x5′ heavy duty 2-ply polyester flag with a U-V protectant spray applied. We also went with the grommets instead of the sleeve. I really appreciated that they took the time to make sure that we would receive the right flag for our needs.

The flag that arrived surpassed my expectations. The heavy duty material with detailed stitching was absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t wait to get the flag hung. We used a solar spotlight to keep it lit at night. It looks stunning both during the day and at night. When the wind picks up, seeing the flag wave just makes me smile. Needless to say, I’m quite impressed with the quality of our new flag.

It feels good to have gorgeous American flag up at this house just in time for Armed Forces Week. During Armed Forces Week as well as today, Armed Forces Day, we recognize and say thanks to those who have served and continue to serve in our country’s armed forces. If you’re looking for beautiful American flags for Memorial Day or Military Service flags, I recommend you check out all the flags that Gettysburg Flag Works has to offer. (They have a large variety of flags for all occasions in addition to custom designed flags.)

A special thanks goes out to Gettysburg Flag Works for sending this military family an American flag. We appreciate this token of appreciation.
