30 Days of Thankfulness: Days 1-5

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Every year, I enjoy participating in the Gratitude Challenge over at my friend Brenda’s blog. This year, I’m also joining up with a fellow Mosaic Reviews team member in her 30 Days of Thanks challenge. I may not post on my blog every day because life happens, but I am going to make sure I am daily counting my blessings. These types of purposeful challenges help me think of something each day for which I can praise the Lord. I know, from past experience, that some days are easier than others. I admit that it can be rough to be thankful when I’m having a really rough day. I wish I could say that I’m joyful each and every day, but I can’t. I’m but a sinner saved by the grace of my Savior….

Day One:

I am thankful that Daddy and Munchkin were able to spend time at the rock wall today. Their special relationship is such a blessing to me.

Day Two:

I am thankful that Daddy has a long weekend as we’ve missed having him home on Saturdays.

Day Three:

I am thankful for the time that Daddy, Munchkin, and I were able to spend horseback riding today. It was fun watch D ride Phantom and Munchkin ride Dixie while I rode one of the other rescue horses that needed some exercise. I am also thankful that I wasn’t seriously hurt when I took a hard fall off a rather tall horse. Praise the Lord for riding helmets as it saved my noggin. 😉

Day Four:

I am thankful that we had a crazy, yet fun morning at the ranch with Daddy (love long weekends!). I am also thankful that Daddy and Munchkin were able to have some fun this afternoon as Munchkin did some practice driving in the RZR. (Daddy is having Munchkin drive the RZR, side-by-side, as practice for driving a vehicle. It’s hard to believe that she’ll be turning 15 in the spring.)

Day Five:

As I sit here paying the first half of the month bills, I am thankful that Daniel has a steady job, that we have running water, and that we have a cabinet full of food. While I totally dislike paying bills, it’s a good time to reflect over the things that we have rather than the things that we don’t. The Lord provides for our needs and even some of our wants. 🙂

  1. Okay, I’m totally up too early this morning. Let me try this again.

I totally agree, Heather! When we give the thanks for what we have instead of focusing of what we don’t, things take on a whole new perspective. Thanks for linking up, I appreciate it!!
