Fit Mommy Friday – Keeping it Real

Fit Mommy Friday

I am totally keeping it real this week as things did not go as planned…

Level One: The Beginner level. This is for those of you who are brand new to exercise or for those who are not already participating in a consistent fitness program. Your goal should include at least 1 mild form of exercise per day (walking, low impact cardio) as well as one nutritional goal (drinking 8 glasses of water per day, keeping a food journal, eating a small salad with dinner).

As I stated last week, I’m starting at the beginner level.  This past year, I have not been in a consistent fitness program.  Yes, I’ve done physical activities, but that has not been consistent.  I know from past experience that I have to gradually work myself up with fitness, or I will fail.

My goals for this week were:

  1. Drink more water: Uh, I failed at this.  In fact, I drank more Dr. Pepper this week.
  2. Maintain weight: Um, yep, I failed at this too. lol!  I gained a couple of pounds thanks to, most likely, #1.
  3. Continue to eat a healthy diet: For the most part, I was on track with this.  I don’t believe in cutting out all goodies as that, once again, causes me to fail.  We did have more baked sweets this week as I was having fun serving our guests.  I’m not skipping out out those. lol!
  4. Consistent exercise with Wii fitness program:  I was hit or miss with my Wii fitness this week.  On a good note, we were doing lots of outside activities, so I still was getting exercise in some form daily.

Munchkin is being a good little motivator for me.  She’s encouraging me to keep working with the Wii fitness, and we’re doing many things together.  I need to get back in the habit of making delicious smoothies in the evening to keep myself from snacking and drinking Dr. Pepper.

Good for you & munchkin! my kids have helped also. I have asked all of them to try to help me…Nick loves to cook and he is often overly focused on food when home–I told him not to talk about food during certain hours!

The only reson I have a onsistent fitness program is because I deliever the home care catalogs. If it werent for my littel job I wouldnt be out there. Always wise to start off gradually

It still sounds like you are doing great! Keep up the activity, and work in the exercise when you can! 🙂

Not every week will be a homerun. Next week is a fresh start with new opportunities!

Maybe for next week you can choose just one of your goals to focus on – like less Dr Pepper and more water – so you don't feel overwhelmed.

Baby steps! You can do it!!

Thank you all for the encouragement!

Honestly, I'm not overwhelmed with the whole thing at all. I've set goals that are completely manageable as they're things that I was doing prior to surgery last year. I just didn't reach those goals this week. lol!

Hey, outdoor exercise is better for you than indoor exercise anyhow. You just can't measure it as well, but that doesn't make it less valuable!

    Blessings,
