Graduation Gift Idea: Jord Wood Watch

JORD Wood Watch Cowgirl Style

High school graduation is such a milestone event in a child’s life. As a parent, you want to find a gift that marks the occasion in a special way. When I was given the opportunity to receive a watch from JORD, I knew it would make the perfect gift for Munchkin. You know that when you’re giving a gift for a big occasion, you also want the packaging to be just so. Well, maybe that’s just me. lol! When the package arrived, I was immediately impressed with the lovely packaging of the watch. It came in the gorgeous wood box which slid open to reveal the watch. Talk about an excellent first impression!

I debated whether or not to give Munchkin the watch right away, but it was so pretty that I couldn’t wait. I thought it was really cool that JORD will size the watch for you based upon your measurements. Since many of the watches are men’s watches or unisex watches, it’s a nice service to offer. If you don’t have them size it for you, you can also take it to a jeweler or if you have the proper tools, make the adjustments yourself. Without any links taken out of the watch band, it actually fit Daddy’s wrist, but it can easily be sized down to fit both my wrist and Munchkin’s wrist. (My wrist is slightly smaller than hers.)

Munchkin loved the look of the wood watch. It was unique which, of course, is totally her style. We both liked the fact that it’s not over-the-top fancy, so it can be worn with casual attire. At the same time, it’s classy enough that it can easily be worn with dresses or even formal attire.

It’s a little larger than something that she would normally wear, but it fit comfortably and looked great on her wrist. She said it looked classy and timeless. A wood watch is definitely something that not everyone is wearing around. Of course, she doesn’t wear it when she’s working with the horses or doing other activities that may end up damaging the watch. She says that is probably the only thing she doesn’t like as she is used to wearing waterproof watches that don’t require much thought about what she does while wearing them. These watches are okay for some splashing but definitely not for dunking in water.

At first, she wasn’t sure if a wood watch would be comfortable, but she quickly found that it was really comfortable. In fact, it was easy to forget that it was on while going about daily activities. To me, the watch looks like a cross between a watch and a bracelet. Because the band can be adjusted (with tools), you can wear it tighter like a watch or a little looser like a bracelet.

Jord Watch Details

Daddy was impressed with the craftsmanship on this wooden watch. The details are truly beautiful. It even has the date (day of the month) on the watch face which was something new for Munchkin. This Ely watch has a black face which really complements the color in the natural wood grain of the watch. It has a smaller face which makes it work well as a woman’s watch.

With all of the beauty in this watch, one of the features that we liked the most is the clasp/buckle. You simply press on the buttons on either side of the watch band to release the clasp. It is sturdy, secure, and easy to use which we all love. In fact, Daddy said he wished his watch had this type of clasp.

The JORD wood watch ended up being the perfect gift for Munchkin’s high school graduation.
