Our Christmas 2013

Family Christmas Photo 2013
Wyatt did not want to get in the picture, but Wiley just joined right in without us even asking him. lol!

As I sit here in my rocking chair near the warmth of the glowing fire, I am feeling blessed. Last year, we were walking on plywood trying to keep warm without any insulation. This year, we have new floors and cozy rooms. It took hard work, but the reward is a lovely home where we can relax as a family.

Lighting the Christmas Fire
There is just something cozy and relaxing about sitting by the fire.

Yes, we have a nice roof over our heads, a fridge and pantry with plenty of food, fresh water to drink, warm clothes to wear, and the fellowship of good neighbors. Even though these things are wonderful, it’s the gift of salvation that makes me feel most blessed this Christmas afternoon.

Searching for Pickle Ornament
Our yearly tradition of searching for the pickle ornament.

I am thankful that I am married to a man who has a strong faith in God; a man who puts his family first after the Lord; a man who leads his family in a way that is honoring to the Lord. Yes, this is a blessing to both Munchkin and myself. Munchkin has a solid role model of what to look for in a husband one day.

Christmas Lego Set
Another tradition that I started with these two several years back is giving them a new lego set for Christmas. They enjoy putting it together on Christmas Day.

I am grateful that my daughter and husband enjoy spending time goofing around together. I can’t help but to smile when I hear their laughter and teasing. The dogs rest near me while occasionally getting up to check on the craziness between Daddy and Munchkin.

Opening Stockings
We had new stockings this year, and somehow, Munchkin ended up with a rather large stocking. 😉

I am pleased with the talks that Munchkin and I have when Daddy is busy working on different projects or going out for a ride. Yes, today, I am feeling extremely thankful and blessed.
