Our Thoughts:
The Children’s Atlas of God’s World is a beautiful, full-color atlas that is sure to capture your child’s attention. The atlas begins with an overview of information relating to globes and maps, time zones, and oceans as well as briefly covering the Biblical worldview account of Creation.
Each of the seven continents has its own section within the book. The continent sections begin with an overview of the continent which includes a listing of the countries on the continent. It has an easy-to-read map as well as some fun facts about the continent, countries, and/or landmarks. After the continent overview, the atlas dives into specifics about certain countries on that continent. It’s important to note that not all countries are covered in-depth in this atlas.
One of the unique features in this atlas is the inclusion of information about Christian history and tradition. In addition to the Christian history, you will also see UNESCO World Heritage Sites highlighted throughout the atlas. Readers will also learn about biomes as well as geographic locations. The key allows students to quickly see important information and locate highlighted facts/locations on the maps. The eye-popping images and graphics draw students into the book and keep them engaged. As with other Master Books publications, this book is written from a Creation/Biblical worldview, so you will not find any evolutionary content.
The atlas concludes with a breakdown of the biomes of the world, a glossary, information about the government systems of the world, listing of holidays around the world, and an index.
We thought the layout of the Children’s Atlas of God’s World was uncluttered and easy to read. The full-color images are beautiful, and the simple maps made it easier to locate the information being discussed within the pages. The fun facts were interesting and engaging. Overall, we thought this was a great, Biblical worldview atlas that is sure to become a wonderful resource around the house.
