Review: My Home School Grades

My Home School Grades is, in my opinion, the easiest homeschool grade and transcript service that I have experienced. It is intuitive and truly simple to use. Because this product is so new, they have plans for many additional features.

• Creating a portfolio
• Additional curriculum providers

Currently, there are a limited number of curriculum providers, and they are not all complete with lesson plans and tests. They are constantly updating the curriculum providers and adding in more information for these curriculum  They are very quick to respond to requests for adding new curriculum providers. (This is a very new company that has some great plans in store for the future.) The good thing is there is the custom/other option if your curriculum isn’t listed or if you’ve created your own course.

I really like that you can add multiple school years when you are adding in classes. In other words, you can add the classes from the previous year, the current year, or even a future year to create a comprehensive transcript. You can even adjust which classes are shown on the transcript. If you don’t want to input all the grades for a class (assignments, quizzes, tests, projects), you can just input the final grade for the class. It’s very versatile for individual wants and needs. Quickly creating a transcript has never been easier.

You have a variety of options to use for grading including letter grades and percentages. It really is set up with the diversity of homeschoolers in mind. In addition to grades, you can also track extra-curricular activities. Just like the curriculum choices, there is a drop-down menu that includes a list of activities as well as a place to add your own custom activity.

Because this is a web-based program, you are able to use it from pretty much any device that can access the internet such as smartphones, tablets, and computers. You just log in wherever you are as long as you have internet.
