I think most Christians have questioned their purpose in life, the meaning of it all. They’ve had their faith tested in a variety of ways. They can either come through these trials with a stronger faith, or they can start to lose hope, faith. It’s not always easy to see the Lord’s plan for our lives, and His plan doesn’t always look like our plan. When we feel that nothing is going in, He could actually be preparing us for an upcoming task. These are the types of topics that are covered in This Is Our Time.
My family (including my nearly 14-year-old daughter) liked this movie. It was very timely for some things that we’ve been dealing with in our own lives, so it was easy to relate to what the characters were going though in the movie. The acting was, for the most part, good, but it was the story line and lessons that we liked the most. The message was one that all Christians need to hear.
While most of the characters and events in the movie were fictional, Embrace a Village is a real mission that reaches out to the leprosy community in India. We enjoyed learning more about their mission work in the special features portion as it was quite eye-opening.
The movie itself is clean and the content is suitable for all ages. That being said, the topic matter may not be interesting to all ages.
