Project 365 – #077
Sometimes, when I’m away on vacation, I get caught up in the simplicity of being away from it all. The responsibilities are less (even if you’re still cooking meals and cleaning), and we don’t have all of the outside activities. It’s easy to idealize the situation.
Walks on beaches ~ Playing Games ~ Relaxing
Who wouldn’t want it all to remain the same? A simplistic, easier lifestyle tends to call out to all of us – especially when “real” life holds many obligations.
Vacation comes to an end. We pack up our things and return home. Laundry needs to be done. Things need to be unpacked and put away. Mail needs to be sorted. Email needs to be gone through. Tasks put on hold need to be addressed. It may seem overwhelming. That calm, peaceful feeling that we had only a few moments ago seems to be slipping away. Stress and a case of crabbiness starts to creep in.
We take a moment, look around, take stock in what we have. We’re blessed with a solid roof over our head, running water, a comfy bed, plenty of clothes (just look at that pile of laundry waiting to be done), a loving family – a home. The tasks ahead don’t seem quite as daunting. I put a smile on my face and decide that we’re going to praise the Lord as we work – thank Him for all of the wonderful blessing in our lives.
After some time in prayer which leads to attitude adjustments, we find ourselves once again cherishing life at home.

Heather, I love to go away the first day or two are so exciting but then I get so homesick…I really love my home & my puppy when we go away we usually board her & she hates it & I hate thinking about her being all alone :/
It;s great to get away & recharge but it’s WONDERFUL TO COME HOME AGAIN!!!!
Oh I know exactly where that is!! So much fun! Glad you are home safely, and I’m sure you’ll want to go back…soon!
