Dragon and TurtleThe Dragon and the Turtle

Written by Donita K. Paul and Evangeline Denmark
Illustrated by Vincent Nguyen

Friends come in all sizes, shapes, and colors.
Sometimes they’re even dragons.

The Dragon and the Turtle is a fun story about new friendships and adventure. Padraig, the dragon, is willing to help his new friend Roger, the turtle, find his way back home even if it means putting aside the hunger pangs in his tummy. Padraig demonstrates the meaning of true friendship.

The book concludes with a short Bible lesson including a scripture passage. Kids will even have the opportunity to learn how to make chocolate chip snappers (with included recipe) just like in the story.

The colorful illustrations are sure to capture the attention of kids while the simple, but cute story will keep them listening.

Munchkin thought the story and illustrations were cute.  I felt that the moral of the story was good.  I liked how the book concluded with the Bible lesson to help younger readers see the Christ-like attitude Padraig exhibited in the story.

  1. Thank you for the review. We loved Roger and Padraig from the first time they showed up in an improvised bed time story. Actually Roger was in that story. Padraig came along after. Thank you for the review, Heather. I hope you had fun with the dialogue and their “British” accents. I’d like to invite you and your readers to come by http://www.dragonandturtle.com. We have two contests going that will end this month. One prize is camping gear and the other is matching parent/child aprons. We also have activity pages for kids and info pages for adults.
