Mystery Rangers: the Case of the Missing MOUNTAIN by Kim Jones reminds me of the junior park rangers program with a twist of Nancy Drew for good measure. This isn’t a run-of-the-mill activity book about Mount St. Helens. It’s a book, written from a Creationists viewpoint that makes kids think. As they unearth the clues, they begin the unravel the mystery of the missing mountain.
Following their guides, Rangers Jack and Jen, kids will not only learn about Mount St. Helens, but also see why Creation and a whole earth flood are feasible. This book is sure to spark imaginations as the kids solve secret codes, make their way through mazes, and decipher crossword puzzles.
Kids can become a Mystery Ranger by completing 2 Rockin’ Ranger Activities and 2 Mystery Ranger Missions. Once these activities and missions are completed, parents can print off certificates and badges for the newest Mystery Rangers.
We really enjoyed this colorful, exciting book. I appreciate that this activity book about Mount St. Helens is written from a creationist viewpoint. As my daughter points out, “there aren’t enough good creation activity books out there.” “I wish all of the national parks could have activity books like this.”
