When I first saw that TOS was coming out with a student version of their Schoolhouse Planner, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be different enough for there to be a need to purchase a separate planner for the student. I looked at samples and was intrigued by what I saw. I liked that they had chosen to break the planner down by grades – primary (K-3), secondary (4-6), middle school (7-8), and high school (9-12). Yet, I still wasn’t completely convinced that I needed a different planner for Munchkin. I had created a workable planner from the current Schoolhouse Planner.
When I was given the opportunity to review one of the student planners, I jumped at the chance because I knew that I couldn’t be the only one having some of these concerns. I decided to go with the Middle School Planner. The Middle School Planner is a large, downloadable E-book at 278 pages. It also comes with a 7 page parent pack that features two encouraging articles for parents facing the unique challenges of homeschooling a middle school/high school child.
I quickly found myself truly astonished at how much information was contained in the student planner in addition to the huge selection of useful forms. True to the original Schoolhouse Planner form, the student planner is packed with an assortment of helpful forms. With all of the forms and information provided, it would be easy to create a customized planner for each student in your home.
Students will be able to pick and choose which forms and what information to include in their own planners. Mom (or Dad) can decide what other forms they want to include to help their students plan not only for school, but also for home. The student pack includes forms for:
- school planning (calendars, assignments, transcripts, high school planning)
- organization (music practice, sports/fitness logs, community service logs)
- outside activities
- scripture memory
- Bible reading
- address book
- and much, much more.
Munchkin liked the idea of being able to have a personalized planner. The generic planners at the store do not fit with our normal activities and lifestyle, but the Schoolhouse Student Planner fits our needs/wants due to the highly customizable format. We can print only the forms and information that we desire to create the best student planner for Munchkin. I found it to be a worthwhile investment even with having the current TOS Schoolhouse teacher planner.
The TOS Schoolhouse Middle School Student Planner is currently available for $19.00. If you have students in multiple age groups, TOS offers various packages. If you don’t already have the TOS Schoolhouse Planner, they even offer packages that include the teacher planner as well as the student planner. All E-books carry a 7-day, 100% money-back guarantee.
I received a free copy of the Schoolhouse Middle School Student Planner to help facilitate the writing of this frank and honest review. All opinions are my own. This post contains a TOS Affiliate link.
