Charlie and Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure
The Green Notebook Series
by Ken Ham with Karen Hansel
Let me introduce you to Charlie and Trike. Charlie is quite the curious, high-energy, adventurous monkey. He’s extremely excited about his upcoming adventure to the Grand Canyon. Trike is Charlie’s wise dinosaur friend who is using the Grand Canyon adventure to show Charlie more about the Bible.
The Grand Canyon Adventure begins with Charlie and Trike starting their tour of the Grand Canyon. The fold out page layout contains a fun mini book which pairs fun fast facts with beautiful pictures. A fun map is included on the page of the next leg of the journey. As the adventure continues through the Grand Canyon, readers encounter interactive pages with flaps, mini-books, a fold-out Charlie and Trike poster, and a fun note from Charlie and Trike at the conclusion of the story.
Throughout the adventure, Charlie takes notes in his little green journal. He’s curious about finding all kinds of fossils of sea creatures so far away from the ocean and water. Trike takes this opportunity to share more about the Bible and the Flood.
The fun characters and beautiful illustrations of Charlie the monkey and Trike the dinosaur draw kids into the story while the interactive features of the book capture and hold their attention. Kids learn about the Grand Canyon, Noah’s Flood, and the truth of the Bible while being entertained by the interesting storyline.
Charlie and Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure, the first book in the Green Notebook Series, is a 24-page sturdy hard cover booked geared towards 4-8 year-olds and retails for $15.99. Both Munchkin and I thought this was a great book and look forward to seeing more books in this new series.
I received a copy of this book from Master Books/New Leaf Publishing to help facilitate the writing of this review. All opinions are my own.
