I am now officially 1 month into the Body Gospel Fitness program. Obviously, I didn’t post last week since we were out of town. I’ve learned that the only bad thing about this program so far is that you can’t really do it while you are out of town (away from tv/dvd). I missed about a week of exercising with the program, but I got exercise in the out of doors. **grin** I’m finding it hard to get back in the routine after being off for roughly a week.
In addition to the programs that I was previously using, I added in 2 new programs:
Gospel Glory: 40 minute interval-based cardio workout will make you shine all over.
Strength & Spirit: alternate between cardio and strength-training segments for a total-body workout.
Week Three:
- Monday: Gospel Glory workout. Whew! This workout was tiring. I made it through about 20 minutes before I needed to call it quits. I needed to drink lots of water as I felt dehydrated. I need to remember to hydrate more before the workout.
- Tuesday: Power & Praise. I still only able to do about 20 minutes of this program, but I’m starting to feel better while doing it. I’m continuing to work on drinking more water.
- Wednesday: Stretch in the Spirit. I really enjoy the stretching program. It’s relaxing and feels good to really stretch out the muscles. Drank plenty of water today.
- Thursday: rested. I was in physical pain and not feeling all that well, so I did not exercise. I was drinking more water than normal due to feeling “yucky”.
- Friday: off. We were in the car most of the day traveling to the campground. We did some minor hiking when we arrived. Drinking plenty of water was essential.
Week Four:
- Monday: off. We did some walking and off road riding. Ironically, this was tiring, and I found myself a bit tired after wards. Drank lots of water as I was quickly dehydrated.
- Tuesday: off. We were in the car most of the day traveling back from the campground. I drank too much Dr. Pepper and ate too many snacks in the car. It was a stressful day.
- Wednesday: rested. After being wiped out from the trip, this turned into a rest day (and catch up on the housework day). Drank too much Dr. Pepper, but also drank a lot of water.
- Thursday: Stretch in the Spirit. I needed the stretching today to relax some tense muscles, so I chose to do this workout instead of the regularly scheduled program.
- Friday: Power & Praise. I will be doing the scheduled program.
Now that I’m a month into the program, I think I’m going to rework the schedule slightly to fit more into my routine. Since I do not work out on the weekends, I’m not following the program exactly. I want to continue to follow the schedule as closely as possible, so I’ll be rewriting it to work for a 5 day work out week. I think this will work better.
I’m not seeing weight loss or real changes in my body as of yet, but I am feeling better. Because I am not following the eating schedule, I’m sure that I’m slowing down the normal process a little. I’m okay with that. I’m continuing to enjoy the upbeat tempo of this program paired with the gospel music and spiritual focus.

It looks like you are recovering quickly from the vacation. I love the name of your blog! My husband was a Marine when we married. We never had the chance to be nomads while he was in the Corps. We stayed at Camp Pendleton the whole time. After his enlistment was up was when we started moving around the country!

Feeling better is a great result. I’m sure you’ll meet your other goals eventually, but for now I’m sure that you’re able to meet your everyday responsibilities more effectively. Way to go!

PS I used to read aloud for hours a day to my kids, but never, ever all day! (Not enough oomph for that now, though.) I also liked being able to edit as I read.
