The Travels of Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World Review

Posted in Reviews

Wiglington & WenksThe Travels of Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World is an exciting new massive online virtual world for kids ages 7-14 where players can travel to places around the world, through time and space, meet famous historical people, play fun enriching games, make new friends own exotic islands, build culture-inspired houses, wear all kinds of cool clothing and costumes, explore secret locations, solve ancient mysteries and become a legendary traveler!

Munchkin’s thoughts:

Munchkin didn’t really care for this virtual world.  She felt it was a bit weird and complicated for her tastes.  She also didn’t feel comfortable with the chat features that were in place.  This just wasn’t something that she enjoyed, so she didn’t make it very far into the game.

My thoughts:

Due to the fact that Munchkin didn’t make it that far into the game, my main concerns were the safety features or lack thereof.  The chat feature was suppose to block foul language and sharing of personal information.  Unfortunately, this was not the case.  There are always unsavory characters that use these virtual worlds to gain access to our children.  Not being able to block the chat feature or only have limited phrases for the younger children is a huge concern for me.  There was also suppose to be a way for me to monitor Munchkin’s game, but that wasn’t available at the time that I was reviewing this virtual world.

While this virtual world was not for us, I know that other members of the TOS crew enjoyed the virtual world, so make sure you check out what they had to say.

Wiglington and Wenks has a free account option or a paid option ($5.99 per month).

I received a free 1 month trial as a member of the TOS Crew for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.

  1. Hi, my name is Chee Yong, the Co-Executive Producer of Wiglington and Wenks. I like to thank you for your time taken to review our virtual world as well as Munchkin’s time to try out the game.

In actual fact with regards to the chat feature, we do agree with you whole-heartedly that what seem to be lacking right now is a safe chat. We had been working on this and I’m glad to share with you that a beta testing for safe chat has already been put up. You can find out more over here http://blog.wiglingtonandwenks.com/ww-news/wiglington-and-wenks-launches-beta-testing-of-safe-chat/

In the weeks to come once we have the systems put in place, parents will be able to select a safe chat for their kids. The Parents panel was taken off temporary to make changes to the system.

We do hope that by then, Munchkin will have a better time checking out the Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World once more.

Thanks again for everything and we look forward to you giving us another opportunity 🙂
