More Party Preparations and Homeschool Fun

Posted in Family, and Homemaking

Our day started off with house work and schoolwork.  Once again, Munchkin did most of her work on her own, so I could get some tasks done around the house.  After she was done with her school work, she got dressed and ate some lunch.  (Yes, we often stay in our pjs in the morning hours.)

After lunch, we headed over to the park for park day with our homeschool group.  Munchkin gave one of her friends an invite to her party.  (I had already talked to her mom, but she hadn’t received an actual invite yet.)  It was nice sitting around talking to the other moms while the kids had fun playing.  We can definitely feel that heat starting to settle in to our area.  It won’t be too long before it starts to get too hot for afternoon park days…

Upon returning home, Munchkin set to washing dishes, and I worked on a few things for Munchkin’s party.  D had called me while we were at the park and reminded me that the family day with his unit was on Saturday (the whole afternoon).  For some reason, I was thinking that was next week, so I had to adjust my timeline on getting things done for the party.

Munchkin finished up the dishes and went next door to see if her friend could play.  She was working on getting her room clean, so she came over when she finished up.  While Munchkin waited, she decided to play in the backyard.  I decided to make pizzas for supper, so I made the dough and allowed it to rise while I finished up the party bags.  It was a huge relief to get them done!

Once the pizza dough had risen, I made the crusts, placed them in the oven to pre-bake, added all the toppings, and did the final bake.  The house smelled wonderful.  While the pizzas were cooking, I worked on some more cleaning around the house.  D was thrilled to come home to hot, fresh from the oven pizzas.  Yum!

After supper, we had to run out to the store to get the ink that I needed for the printer and pick up a few ingredients for the cake and cupcakes.    Back home, D and Munchkin decided to watch a movie, and I worked on the party script/journals and name tags.  (I was sitting with them while they watched the movie.)

Tomorrow, I’ll be working on the cakes and cupcakes.  We’ll also be doing the grocery shopping for the veggies for the party veggie platter.

For now, I’ll say goodnight.  It is late, and I’m tired…
