11th Birthday Preparations: Part 2

Posted in Family, and Homemaking

Today was filled with more cleaning and birthday preparations.  While I worked, Munchkin did her school work and then worked on her car for the Awana Grand Prix.  The Grand Prix was tonight.  There were several technical difficulties (and difficulties in how the rules were enforced), but the kids ultimately had lots of fun even with the craziness.  It was priceless watching all of their excited faces as the cars raced down the track.

Back to the party prep…

When I was at the dollar store, I found these travel mugs that you can personalize.  I knew these would make great usable party favors.  After cutting some brown and pink scrapbook paper to size, I glued a Molly image with the girls name underneath to the paper.  Once I slipped the paper into the mug, I had a personal mug for each of the girls that will be at the party.  They will be able to use them for their drinks at the party, and then take them home for later.

I was also able to finish up the pinata.  Munchkin was very pleased with the end result.  Now to decide on what goodies will go into the pinata…

I continued to work on the gift bags here and there throughout the day.  I also finished typing up the script, but I couldn’t finish putting together the script/journals because I ran out of ink for my printer.  I hope to be able to get to the store tomorrow and pick up some ink.  (The game came with a script, but I wanted to change it slightly for our use.  Plus, I liked the idea of the girls having a personalized script/journal.

Now, I am off to bed.
