When cleaning makes you smile

Posted in Homemaking

I’d love to say that I’m one of those people that takes great joy in cleaning my home, but I’m not.  I don’t dread it, but I don’t enjoy it like I do baking/cooking.  So, it’s always nice when something happens to make me smile while I’m cleaning…

Heart Drips
Heart Drips

I admit that I get a bit frustrated at the daily drips of syrup that are left on the kitchen counter, but today’s drip was rather amusing.  Have you noticed all the hearts that I’ve been finding lately?  So, as I’m cleaning the counter, I decide that I have to take a picture of this syrup drip that made me smile.

A little while later, I’m working on cleaning up some of the drips on the kitchen floor, and I come across this little red heart-shaped drip.  Once again, I smile and grab the camera.  I’m really not sure what made this particular drip.  Munchkin thinks it’s from her cherry icee cup.

Sometimes it’s hard to not get upset at all of the little messes, so little reminders like these are always welcome.  Seeing the little hearts in the mess reminded me of the wonderful blessings that helped create the messes.  I am blessed to have to opportunity to take care of my family ~ messes and all.

So sweet! I know what you mean though about keeping up with things…I do not work on Fridays so I do all of my heavy duty cleaning then but we have two big yellow labs & they make a mess, with the fur & the spilled water and the toys all over so I have to pick up every day & it isn’t even my mess!! Have a great night, God Bless!

You definitely have that ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ vibe – I like that!
Those drips look like subconscious love notes for you 🙂
