Go to the ant, you sluggard!
Consider her ways and be wise,
Which, having no captain,
Overseer or ruler,
Provides her supplies in the summer,
And gathers her food in the harvest.
~ Proverbs 6:6-8 ~
This past week, we spent time out in the dessert. D was teaching Munchkin to ride her dirt bike, and I decided to take a photo tour of the area. I was walking around looking for heart shapes in nature for this week’s Foto Friday Challenge when I stumbled upon this ant hill. The ants were scurrying about collecting food. They worked together to repair the part of the ant hill that I accidentally stepped on while walking. As I watched their hard work, the above scripture came to mind. How much time do I spend wasting away instead of accomplishing the things that the Lord has for me and my family? I need to strive to be more like the little ant…

The ant is always a humbling sight for me. Such a small creature can be so annoying and yet can give us one of the greatest lessons there is to learn!
Oh those words….”thou sluggard” they have such impact.
Great picture to remind us to stir ourselves up.
