After seeing this week’s challenge of hearts, I knew that I wanted to do something a little different. When we headed out to the desert, I decided to look for hearts in nature. It was fun to see how many hearts I found when I was actually looking. Munchkin got excited by what I was finding, so she joined in on the hunt for hearts.
I found these sticks resting just like this under a bush.
Munchkin and I put this one together just for fun.
After I found this heart shaped rock, we went on to find several more stone hearts.
Munchkin collected them to bring home for her rock garden.
When Munchkin saw this leaf in the shape of a heart, she was pleasantly surprised.
We don’t have many leaves around here, so finding a heart shaped one was exciting.
I started seeing hearts everywhere as I walked along.
There were multiple holes that looked like hearts to me.
What do you think? Does it look like a heart to you?
I found this set of footprints in a dry wash that made a heart shape.
Because I couldn’t get them to show up in the pictures, I drew a heart around the shape.
I found this heart shaped fence wire on an old shelter in the middle of the desert.
The heart shaped twine was on the ground near the old shelter.
I hope you enjoyed joining us on our tour of hearts from the desert. We had a blast looking for hearts in nature. I’m constantly amazed at the wonderful things we find when we go out exploring.

What a neat idea! I love all the hearts you found.
Great pictures! It’s always neat what you can find if you only look!
WOW! very creative – well done 🙂 🙂
I love this Foto Friday, I love photography, I am going to try for it this week.
Wow! It is so amazing what you found in the desert. When I go outside all I see for as far as one can see is a blanket of white and NO hearts at all. I really loved how you found all your entries in the wild.. great job!
Oh, this is a fun blog…. and I love the hearts that you found. How cool!
I entered a photo, even tho’ it didn’t actually fit the challenge of having been taken within the week…. but it is a favorite of mine. 🙂
I. LOVE. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Really, I can’t pick a favorite, I want to frame them all and have a heart wall now, and I’m not the most “heartsy” person!
These are all so cool. How fun to search nature for hearts. My favorites were the twig heart and the wire heart. Great job!!!
Cute pictures! I’m following you from Friday Follow!

You certainly found a lot of hearts! I like the stone heart best.
Wow. I never would have thought you would find so many natural heart shapes! Good job for keeping eyes and mind open. I couldn’t believe those holes were just naturally made and you didn’t do them! That’s amazing!
Your photos are wonderful!! You obviously have an artist’s eye–I’ve seen leaves like that all my life and never once realized they are heart-shaped.
This post reminds me of a photographer (I think in Canada?) who traveled all around taking photos of naturally occuring shapes that look like letters of the alphabet and then puts them together to spell words and makes framed prints. You could definitely do some kind of photo collage with your shots and make a great and unique piece!
I punched heart shaped holes in a piece of black construction paper and taped to the end of a flash light. One of those crazy things I think up while washing dishes!
Hi there! Thanks for joining the Blog Hop. I’m following you now. Love your blog. I’ll be back later to read more.
