Zeezok Publishing was founded in 2003 with a goal to provide quality literature and educational books for use in training the next generation. They believe that “It is better to build children than to repair men.”
Zeezok Publishing sent us the Presidential Penmanship BJ Style Complete curriculum on cd to review. This program includes handwriting skills practice for grades 1st through senior high. While we do not normally use a separate handwriting program, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to easily incorporate the use of this program in our every day schooling. Since the program is made up of copywork from writings and quotes of America’s founding fathers and presidents, it could be incorporated into our history studies.
We chose to use the junior high level of the program as Munchkin really wanted to work on her cursive skills, and I felt this would be a good level for her. The copywork begins with shorter quotes/writings and then progresses to longer passages as we near the end of the program. Some of passages include selections from the Declaration of Independence, Lincoln’s First and Second Inaugural Addresses, the Gettysburg Address, and Reagan’s First and Second Inaugural Addresses. The copy-work will assist Munchkin the memorization of some of the key writings from our nation’s history.
Since many other topics, quotes, and writings are covered in the different grade levels in this program. I may go back and pull some of those passages out for Munchkin to use as copywork. Some of those quotes/writings include quotes centered around the founding principles of the United States, speeches from famous men such as Patrick Henry and Thomas Paine, and passages from George Washington’s Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior.
