Gratituesday: Family

Posted in Family, and Military Life

We have been blessed during D’s military career to always be able to drive to see family.  Granted, it has been a long drive at times, but it was always less than a day’s drive away.  When we moved across country this year, we knew that our treks home to see family would come to a halt for a while (we don’t fly due to our “puppy”).  That is never an easy realization.

While this is not always easy, it has given us the opportunity to come together.  We (D, Munchkin, and I) have learned to depend on each other and God.  This has allowed us to build an amazing bond as a family unit.  I am so grateful for that special bond that we share.  Had we not been a military family, I do not know that our bond would be quite so great…

As we prepare for our visit with family this week, we are working together to get the house ready for company.  We continue to have fun and play together.  We look forward to sharing our new home with our guests.  We thank the Lord for our little family and for our large extended family.  We thank the Lord for allowing part of our family to come visit when we can’t travel to them.
