Gratituesday: Faith

Posted in Christian Life

We are blessed with a beautiful daughter who loves the Lord.  We do our best to raise her in a manner that would be pleasing to Him.  We teach her and guide her according to God’s Word.  Yet, we make mistakes.  We are sinners just like every one else here on this earth.  By the grace of God, Munchkin is growing spiritually as she grows physically.

We have talked with her about baptism over the years, but we always knew that it was something that she would have to decide on for herself.  We were just there to guide her and make sure she understood the meaning behind baptism.  When she made the decision to be baptized, D and I were so proud and grateful that she was taking that step.

When we found out that Gramma and Grampa would be able to be there for the baptism, we were thrilled.  It’s not often that anyone from our families are able to share in such momentous occasions due to the distance between us.  They were filled with joy to see their precious grandchild take that step of faith.

Munchkin made an inward profession and followed with an outward expression.

Faith: “a firm, cordial belief in the veracity of God, in all the declarations of his word; or a full and affectionate confidence in the certainty of those things which God has declared, and because he has declared them.” Websters Dictionary 1828

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. ~Hebrews 11

There is nothing like seeing your children take that step of faith. I remember sitting there trying to control myself during each of my children's baptism! Great post. Have a great day.

Praise God! That is wonderful to hear. My daughter also wants to baptized. When they decide to take that step it shows they truly understand what we are trying to teach them. Blessings!

Praise God that she was able to outwardly show through her baptism and that grandma and grandpa were able to be there! 😀
