Hands of a Child Symbols of Christmas Lapbook Tour

Posted in Reviews

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you already know that I like the Hands of a Child lapbooks.  When we were given the opportunity to review a Christmas lapbook, I was happy to jump on the chance.

The Symbols of Christmas project pack includes a 12 page research guide and 15 hands on activities.  Children will learn the meaning behind the following Christmas symbols:

  • The Advent Wreath and Calendar
  • Christmas Cards
  • Gift Giving
  • Christmas Tree
  • Christmas Lights
  • Christmas Ornaments
  • Holly
  • Poinsettia
  • The myth behind the abbreviation Xmas
  • Nativity scenes
  • Colors of Christmas
  • Candy Canes
  • Saint Nicolas and Santa Claus

Munchkin has enjoyed learning about the meanings behind these common symbols of Christmas.  I was happy to have a fun lapbook that didn’t require in depth planning.  The study guide includes vocabulary words with definitions.  There are also book suggestions (and links) if you would like a more thorough study of the symbols.

As with all Hands of a Child lapbooks, all information that we needed to complete the activities was in the research guide.  Munchkin was able to easily find the required information and fill in the answers to the questions. I was happy that this particular lapbook wasn’t in full color as my color ink had run out. I was able to print in just blank ink on colored paper for a fun, colorful lapbook.

Hands of a Child offers their lapbooks in many formats to meet many different needs.  These formats include: ebook, ebook with type-in, cd, printed, and printed/cd combo.  They also offer an answer key which I highly recommend for easier planning of units.  I received the ebook version of the project pack which is available for $12.00.

This review is part of the MamaBuzz blog tour. I received a free copy of The Symbols of Christmas project pack to complete this review.  Links in this review are affiliate links, so I will receive credit to purchase more Hands of a Child lapbooks from purchases made through these links.  All opinions are my own.

Thanks for writing about this one-I have it locked into my "next year" list. The boy is a bit too young, as I would do the majority of the work, but next year he should be just the perfect age (and well, be able to read more fluently and write without meltdowns-LOL). It is nice to read about how others used/like it b4 one buys. Appreciate it.

    Blessings-
