First, I want to say that we had a delicious Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately for me, I woke up on Tuesday feeling a bit under the weather. By Tuesday evening, I was feeling less than stellar, but I thought maybe it would pass with a good night’s rest. Wednesday morning proved me wrong. Despite feeling under the weather, I was able to get most of the cooking done prior to Thursday.
Thursday, I woke up feeling very ill, but I had 2 turkeys and 10 lbs of potatoes to prepare. I had the potatoes already diced and soaking, so the potatoes didn’t take much work. The first turkey went in at 5:00 am. (That was our turkey). As soon as our turkey was done, I popped in the big ole 20 pound turkey (for the Marines that work with my husband that were on duty Thanksgiving day).
We were able to sit down to a nice Thanksgiving dinner. After dinner, I rested and then we watched a movie. When the movie was over, I finished up the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce. As soon as it was all done, we headed over to make the delivery.
The rest of the evening we were able to rest and watch a movie. Since I’m still feeling very ill, there are no pictures at this time. D has sent me to bed to rest, so I better start resting…
I am very grateful that the Lord gave me the strength to get through the day. I am grateful that he allowed me to get so much done ahead of time.
I'm praying that you'll soon be feeling better again. ♥
Blessings,
Jillian
