Homeschool Fun

Posted in Homeschooling

Thursday, our day started with some cool, refreshing fun. We had our first meeting with the newly formed homeschool group on base. We were pleased to see several familiar faces there as well as some new. We even reconnected with a friend that we had lost touch with several years ago. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures as we were all having such a good time of fellowship.

One of the ladies was able to get a HUGE inflatable waterslide for the kiddos to play on. We were at the park, so the kids went back and forth between the waterslide and the playground equipment. The sprinklers at the park kept coming on, so they had fun playing in those as well. The moms just had fun talking and getting to know each other. Plus, we tried to avoid getting too wet in the sprinklers.

After lunch, we headed over to the base library for the new homeschool program. For the first day of class, they received library cards and learned about the library systems. I’m honestly not sure what else they learned about because the girls wouldn’t stop chattering about the books they picked out. (3 of Munchkin’s friends rode with us to and from the library.)

We were able to relax for a little while before heading over to Munchkin’s basketball practice. Since Daddy is the coach, I get to head back home and have some quiet time. I also prepare food, so they can eat as soon as they get home. They’re always starving after practice.

Whew! What a crazy busy day! It’s fun to have a day like that every now and then, but not too often.
