This recipe is based on Sue Gregg’s Taco Chip Ole. We have added this recipe to our normal rotation. The meat heats up well for use later in the week. We use this meat for both nachos and tacos.
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground turkey
1/4 cup diced onions
1 can diced tomatoes
2 Tbsp. taco seasoning
1) Brown turkey. Add diced onions while cooking.
2) Blend/Puree diced tomatoes with taco seasoning. Add to browned meat. Simmer until sauce thickens.
This makes a great meal for company. Serve meat with tortilla chips or warm tortillas. Create a topping bar to allow guests/family to create their own nachos or tacos.
Topping Suggestions:
Diced onions
Diced peppers
Diced fresh tomatoes
Chopped black olives
Shredded lettuce
Shredded cheese
Sour cream
Cooked brown rice
