Two weeks ago, we were getting ready to head on vacation, and I got sick, really sick. I was in bed for several days. I only got up when I absolutely needed to do something. I didn’t know if we’d be able to go as planned. The day before we were scheduled to leave I hadn’t even packed for the trip. Thankfully, I was able to get things packed (with much effort) that evening, and we left as scheduled. On the drive there, I lost my voice. It took most of last week to get it back.
We had a lovely time visiting with family. Munchkin adored being able to see her cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. She had fun playing with Daddy and her cousins. She was able to spend some quality time with our extended family which doesn’t happen very often. We knew that it may be some time before we’re able to do something like this again, so we wanted to make the most of our time there.
While up there, we were able to head over to the Creation Museum. Munchkin and I had gone before with Grandma, Grandpa, and her cousin, but D was deployed at that time. Munchkin and I were so excited to take D. Thanks to their military discounts, we were able to pick up some books from their bookstore as well. We had a wonderful time learning and spending time together as a family.
The week went by quickly. Before we knew it, we were headed back home. When we arrived home, we hit the ground running. We have many projects to accomplish as we continue to get ready to put our house on the market. We are still waiting for D’s orders, so we have a little more time.
Today, we took some time out to head over to the Air & Space museum. They are having a special this month for military members and their families, so we were able to get in free. We needed the break from the hard work, and we wanted to see the museum before we left the area. The rainy day seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Tomorrow, Munchkin will have her first baseball practice of the season (weather permitting). We needed to get her a new glove for this year as her hands are nearly as big as mine now. She’s growing up so quickly. She’s looking forward to having D around for this season, and he’s looking forward to seeing his “little” girl play. As of now, it looks like we’ll be here for the whole season.
I’ll try to post some pictures as time permits. I’m still trying to catch up on emails. When you don’t check your email for over a week, emails tend to pile up a bit. I’m also staying quite busy with things around the house, so computer time is rather limited.
Glad you are feeling better and that your visit with family was nice!
I loved Air & Space when we were able to go (many years ago now!)
Glad she will likely get to play the whole baseball season!
