Yum! Blueberries

On the way home from our trip, we stopped and picked up 10 pounds of freshly picked blueberries. I knew that Munchkin would have fun munching on them while we were on the road. Plus, I had some delicious ideas in mind…

Today, I made up 2 blueberry pies to put in the freezer for D when he gets home in a few months. He’s missing out on all of the fresh berries this year, so I want to make sure he still gets to enjoy at least some of the goodies that go along with berry season. I decided to leave them unbaked and vacuum seal them for freshness.

Tomorrow, I’ll be teaching Munchkin how to make blueberry freezer jam. I enjoy freezer jam as it doesn’t heat up the house. Plus, it’s much safer for kids to help mom since there is no boiling water and hot jars involved.
