A New Church Home

With each move, we usually struggle to find our new church home. It’s become a source of tension whenever we learn that we’re being relocated. This time, we all prayed as a family well before we even headed down here that we’d find a church home quickly. We went to a church of one of Munchkin’s friend over Easter Sunday when we were moving some of our things down here, but we knew that it wasn’t right for us.

Fast forward to us moving down here last week…. We had no idea where we were going to go to church on Sunday; we just knew that we were going. We now live in an area where churches are quite abundant (pretty much on every block in some areas). So, finding a church was rather a daunting task.

On the way home from a shopping trip, we drove by a church. I had driven by the church a couple of times before, but I could never remember the name by the time that I arrived home. Well, this time, we decided to look the church up on the internet to find out more about it. After looking up the church, we found that it fit our core values, and it had what appeared to be a good children’s program. So, off to church we went on Sunday.

Now, I have to admit that both of us were waiting for it to be the wrong church as that had happened so many times in the past. Thankfully, we were pleasantly surprised. Now, Munchkin didn’t really enjoy the children’s service as she felt it was a little young for her, so she’ll just sit with us next week. So, this Sunday, we’ll be trying out Sunday School. We’re also praying that we’ll know the Lord’s will on if this is the church for us. Right now, we’re cautiously optimistic that we may have found the church were the Lord wants us to go.
