This week is the ultimate celebration of life. We are celebrating both the life and the death of Christ. Without Christ’s death and then His resurrection, we would be without hope for the future here on earth and peace for eternal salvation.
As we remember the ultimate sacrifice that God and Jesus made many years ago, we also need to treasure the lives we’ve been given here on earth. We never know what tomorrow holds for us. All that we know for sure is that we have the here and now. Let’s treasure these times.
This week, I am very grateful that my husband is home with us once again. It is wonderful to be together as a family once again. It is wonderful to know that won’t be going away for the rest of the month.
I am thankful that I now (finally) have a new digital camera with which to capture special moments that we have together. I love being able to share these moments with our friends and family that are far away.
I am thankful for the beauty of spring and new life even though cold weather threatens us once again. It’s been wonderful to be able to be outside enjoying the fresh air. We’ve enjoyed the beauty of God’s creations.
As always, I am grateful for the Lord’s wonderful wisdom in our lives. We may not know the future or understand what His ultimate purpose is in our lives, but we can take comfort in the knowledge that He knows what is best for us and He’s in control.
Lord, thank you for sacrificing your life and defeating death, so that we can spend eternity with you just by accepting your gift. Please help us to live our lives in a way that praises and glorifies you.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:2
