Yesterday, I received an email from a local yahoo homeschool group that I belong to. A couple of ladies were inviting other homeschooling families to come join them for a day at the park. Well, being new to the area, I had no idea where the park was, but I was eager to start making contacts (and hopefully friends) in the area. I emailed one of the ladies to get directions.
Today, it was so beautiful outside. A perfect day for a picnic at the park with the other homeschoolers. Off we went… It turns out the park is only 15 minutes away. Not bad. We ended up having a wonderful time. Several families turned out. The kids had a blast playing while the moms chatted about this and that.
As we were leaving, munchkin wanted to know when we’ll be able to get together again. I also received some information on a local church that’s right down the road from us. We may need to check it out as the apparently have a wonderful children’s program. A couple of the families attend church there.
So, we had a wonderful day. Munchkin is exhausted and I’m putting off working on the floor. It’s just so nice outside. I think I need to go water the flowers….
That is fantastic! I am glad you took time to ‘deviate from the plan’ as I like to call it. Sometimes, it just calls for it! It is great to get in with the locals, for your daughter too, and to explore-especially on a gorgeous day!
That picture of your daughter below is just PRECIOUS and I can TOTALLY see that being a FABULOUS framed gift for Father’s Day, etc. Very sweet!
