Today, we stopped by Jo-Ann Fabrics so munchkin could pick out some goodies with her gift card from Christmas. She wanted some more perler beads and some sort of craft/activity. She found a perler activity kit that she liked and a kid concoctions gooey gunk factory (which she got on clearance).

Needless to say, she wanted to do the gooey gunk kit as soon as we got home. Interestingly enough, it’s relatively simple. The kit comes with everything you need including a glow-in-the-dark solution.

If you’re interested in making your own gunk, all you need is solution 1: (1 C water, 1 C white glue, food coloring if desired) and solution 2: (1 1/3 C warm water, 4 tsp Borax — mix until dissolved) Slowly pour solution 1 into solution 2 **do not mix together** Roll solution 1 in solution 2 a few times. Remove solution 1 from solution 2 and need for a couple of minutes. Store in a plastic bag when not in use. (For more fun concoctions, check out ultimate kid concoctions & ultimate kid concoctions 2.)

She’s currently having a blast playing with her goop, gunk, slime…. Well, you get the picture. By the way, hers is blue and it glows in the dark.

Note to self: Do not go out shopping the day before the Super Bowl. Yikes!!!! The crowds were horrible. D needed new running shoes and our four-legged friend needed food, so we braved the crowds and were successful!!!

We found out (due to needing a few things for the week) that during the Super Bowl is an excellent time to shop. It’s like a ghost town. My husband was in heaven!!
