Thankful Thursday: A Fresh Look

Last week, we were struggling to get our footing under us as a sequence of events left us torn and broken. As a family, we were hurting, and we received an outpouring of love, encouragement, and prayers from many individuals both online and in person. The Lord used so many people to touch us, and there really is no way I can adequately express how much we appreciate it all. Last week, I really didn’t think we’d be hearing the true, pure laughter around our house any time soon. We continued to joke around and go about living our lives, but our hearts weren’t really into what we were doing. An under tone of sadness seemed to permeate the house and everything we did. While I wasn’t ready to introduce a new furry buddy to our home yet, both Daddy and Munchkin really wanted to have a new puppy in time for Christmas. When I scheduled my a Doggy Christmas post yesterday, I never imagined that I would soon be turning around and writing a post about having to say goodbye to our beloved dog. You may remember from A Doggy Christmas Part 1 that we purchase goodies to put together a new pet owner kit. The original plan was for that kit to be used for a newly adopted dog from the humane society, but as it seems often happens around here, the plan changed. Munchkin decided that she’d really like the kit to go to the dogs at the stable where she volunteers. The dogs are healthy and loved, but Munchkin wants to spoil them with some extras that they don’t have like treats, chewies, and toys. We put together a kit that…
