Zion and Bryce CanyonYour Guide to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks: A Different Perspective
by Mike Oard, Tom Vail, John Hergenrather, Dennis Bokovoy

Your Guide to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks in the newest book in the True North Series. We had such a wonderful experience using the Grand Canyon Guide from this series. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this new book. Little did I know that receiving this book would lead to a new vacation…

I had, oddly enough, never heard of either Zion or Bryce Canyon National Park.  As I looked through the amazing pictures included in this guide, I knew that it was a place that we needed to visit as a family.  The details about the different locations within the National Parks and surrounding areas just reaffirmed that decision.

As soon as my husband arrived home, I handed him the Guide and told him he might be interested in taking a trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon.  Just as I was drawn into the imagery of the book and thorough descriptions, my husband was soon captivated by what he saw and read.

Thankfully for us, the Guide has a planning section that helps with planning your trip.  This information became our springboard for looking further into actually taking a vacation to these National Parks.  Section Three of the Guide has a plethora of information about how to see the canyons.

As with the Grand Canyon Guide, the Zion and Bryce Canyon Guide is written with a Christian world view.  The foreword is written by John D. Morris, the President of the Institute for Creation Research.  Instead of seeing everything through evolutionary glasses, the wonders of Zion and Bryce Canyons are seen through Creation glasses.

Section Five begins the journey into the National Parks.  Detailed information for each stop allows readers to really understand their location and what they are seeing.  Every location includes fast facts (important tidbits for that particular area), elevation, and fold-out pages with pictures and in-depth information.

The Guide includes information about formation (such as how the Grand Staircase was formed), geology, fossils, ecology, and history.  Most sections include a side-by-side comparison between creation and evolutionary viewpoints.  The Guide concludes with a list of additional resources and a glossary.

Whether you’re planning to take a trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon or you just want to learn more about these National Parks, Your Guide to Zion and Bryce Canyon will be a great asset in your educational library.  We look forward to using the guide when we actually head to the National Parks.  It’s always nice to be able to read a guide that is not from an evolutionary viewpoint.
