Sewing Camp

This week, munchkin headed to sewing camp. Well, ok, so I drop her off at 9:30 and pick her up at 12:30, so it’s not exactly “heading to camp”. Anywho, she had to bring her own scissors, pins, and a pin cushion. Everything else is supplied. They take it at the pace of the participants, so who knows what they’ll be doing by the end of the week. Today, she came home with a pillow and a tote bag that she had made. She’s so proud of herself, and we’re proud of her too!! They’ll be making boxers tomorrow. I…

Homemade Hammock

We received this hammock stand from someone who no longer needed it. I gladly took it as we’ve (munchkin and I) always wanted a hammock, but I knew that hammocks where not cheap. She loved it so much that she asked me to make pillow cases for her two other pillows to match. They didn’t take very long to make as fleece is extremely easy to work with. So,…

Make It From Scratch: Pajamas

Posted in Homemaking

I have never made pjs before, but my daughter is outgrowing everything at an amazing rate. I was suppose to make these for her for Christmas. I was also going to make matching pjs for her American Girl dolls. But, I never did get around to it. So, I have finally tackled making the pajamas! First I made the long sleeve pink top with pink sleeping bear bottoms (I had a pattern for these). Then, I decided that I also wanted to make a short sleeve/short version, so I adjusted everything according to what I thought would work. Yes! It…
