We have used Typing Instructor for Kids when Munchkin was younger.  When we upgraded to a newer computer, Munchkin’s program no longer worked.  We decided to put a typing computer program on the back burner and just had Munchkin practice typing various words and sentences.  While she did okay with this, she missed the fun that she had with Typing Instructor for Kids. All About Spelling is a logical, sequential, multisensory spelling program. The lessons involve sight, sound, and touch.  Each lesson builds upon the previous lesson.  The program is mastery-based, not grade-level based, so when students master a specific concept, they move on.  It also has continual review. AVKO, a non-profit organization founded by Don McCabe, specializes in teaching dyslexics how to read, write, spell and type. AVKO develops books and materials utilizing the multi-sensory approach (Audio, Visual, Kinesthetic, Oral) that can be used with anyone and by anyone.
