Random Thoughts of Thanks

Posted in Holidays, and Thoughts

Today, I am grateful that I’m a nominee over at the Homeschool Blog Awards.  I’ve been nominated in the Best Homemaking Blog category.  It’s a blessing to know that my gluten free recipes and gluten free products posts have helped others.  I love being able to take care of my family by providing delicious gluten free cooking for them, and it’s fun when I’m able to help even more people in the process. It was fun to know that some of my posts such as The Great Bedroom Throwdown and The Great Bathroom Throwdown inspired some people to have fun…

Happy Veteran’s Day 2010

Posted in Holidays, and Military Life

Over the years, Veteran’s Day has meant different things to me.  When I was younger, I didn’t completely understand the significance.  Once D joined the Corps, my understanding started to significantly grow.  His first deployment lead to a deeper understanding.  During the next deployment, he was actually gone for Veteran’s Day.  It was then that the meaning of it all truly sank in. Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Outdoor Adventures

I am so grateful for companies who offer special discounts for military members and their families.  We were able to go to Sea World San Diego for free.  Yes, we still had to pay $12 for parking, but that was our only cost.  We just had to show our military ids at the gate, and we received complimentary tickets for the day. At the different shows, they had the military members stand up to be recognized and thanked for their service.  Since I’m proud of our men and women in uniform, I enjoy seeing all the service members being recognized…

Trip to Sea World Part 1

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Outdoor Adventures

We had told Munchkin that once she completed her Marine Biology class that we would head to Sea World.  Sadly, she finished some time ago, but things seemed to keep us from heading over there.  Finally, we just decided that we were going and went.  We’re a little less than 3 hours from Sea World, so we decided that we would just drive over in the morning and head back at night. When the headaches hit last week, I was concerned that we wouldn’t be able to go, but I woke up Saturday morning with a very minor headache.  Off…
