Bryce Canyon: Natural Bridge

We were interested to see the “natural bridge” at this stop.  It turns out that, like many things in this park, the natural bridge was misnamed.  It its actually an arch, not a bridge.  (One of the main things that was misnamed in Bryce Canyon is the Canyon itself.  Bryce Canyon isn’t actually a canyon.)  We thought this area was beautiful.  There is something very cool about arches. The next stop is Agua Canyon where there are several very cool Hoodoos.

On Saturday, D was itching to head out off-roading with his truck.  It had been some time since we’ve been out as his truck had been down due to needed repairs.  Before we left on vacation, he was able to complete the repairs on his truck, but we didn’t have time to test out the truck prior to leaving. Bryce Canyon: Paria View

The winds are now picking up, and Munchkin and I are getting a bit chilly.  Our hoodies aren’t quite cutting it now, so we decide to pull out the jackets.  D is laughing at us because we have our hoods up trying to protect our ears from the cold wind. Interesting tidbit… Paria is a Paiute word meaning “water with elk” or “water with mud.” (from Your Guide to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks) Our next stop will be Swamp Canyon.
