Adventures in Puppyland: 1st Hiking Trip

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

We were thrilled when D decided that he finally felt up to hiking again as it had been a long time since we’ve been able to go hiking together as a family. Even when he was able to go hiking previously, due to his back issues, he was unable to even carry his own hydration pack. I was happy that he could now carry his own pack, and he wanted to tackle a longer hike with the pups. Based upon our regular walks, we knew that the pups would enjoy hiking to some extent. What we didn’t know is how…

Adventures in Puppyland: 1st Camping Trip

Our Bear loved camping from the first time that we took him out. He just loved being outdoors. As he got older, he preferred camping in the trailer over tent camping which is completely understandable. I mean sleeping on a bed is much easier on an older body than sleeping on the hard ground. As we said goodbye to our beloved pet in December, we also felt the grief of not being able to take him out camping one last time. One Puppy, Two Puppies…

I haven’t been blogging much these days because D has been home from work, and we’re going through lots of adjustments here on the homefront. As you recall, we adopted Wiley from the humane society the weekend before Christmas.  He’s been integrating into our family.  As with any changes, there have been ups and downs, but he is definitely 100% a member of the family.  He’s still learning to be comfortable with D in all areas of the house.  For whatever reason, he’s a little intimidated by D (height/size maybe?).  He loves playing with him and cuddling with him in…

A Little after Christmas Photo Shoot

Prior to knowing that Daddy was going to have another back surgery, we picked up a nice dress for Munchkin to wear to the Marine Corps Ball.  Well, we ended up not being able to make it to the Ball which disappointed Munchkin as she wanted to wear her pretty new dress.  I told her we’d do a little mini photo shoot so she could wear her dress.  Time got away from us, so we didn’t get her little photo shoot until today.  The temperature was a little cooler, so she wore a wrap for the pics.  It was totally…

Thankful Thursday: A Fresh Look

Posted in Family

Last week, we were struggling to get our footing under us as a sequence of events left us torn and broken.  As a family, we were hurting, and we received an outpouring of love, encouragement, and prayers from many individuals both online and in person.  The Lord used so many people to touch us, and there really is no way I can adequately express how much we appreciate it all. Over the weekend, the Lord brought a sweet puppy into our lives which allowed some healing to begin.  Oh, it hasn’t been a cake walk as new dogs require lots…
