When D said I could have chickens, I got super excited and immediately started planning the coop. Much to my surprise and delight, D gave the go-ahead on bringing home some chickens. We’re using an old wood storage cabinet that we picked up for free as the brooder box. It’s a good size for our 6 chicks. Since we picked up the chicks at Tractor Supply, we’re not sure of the breed, but they are all supposed to be pullets. Driving a manual transmission Jeep – especially an older style – can be interesting when you have shorter legs. For my Jeep, the clutch has to be pushed all the way to the floor for it to engage which is rather difficult for this 5’2” person with shorter legs. It’s even difficult for Munchkin who has longer legs. I could reach if I put a pillow behind my back, but even then, I had to use my tippy toe with a completely straight leg. Cabin Update: Shower

We finally finished up the tiling in the bathroom shower during our time at the cabin. I can say, without a doubt, that I do not like tiling. lol! Doing grout – especially on those lovely river rocks – is also pretty low on my remodeling fun list. 😉 That being said, we are happy that the shower came together as we pictured. We still need to do some finish work like caulk and trim. We also need to eventually put up the glass panels, but we may just put up a shower curtain for now. The good news is…

One of the things that was on our “to-do” list for our next visit to the cabin was putting up a fence for the dogs. Now, we didn’t want to spend a ton of money, and we needed something that was easy as the ground is hard at the cabin.
